Summer Camps have been ordered by the state of Virginia to remain closed for now. However, Outdoor Ministry is so much more than Summer Camp. Our staff are preparing for Family Retreats and more Camp at Home (virtual camp) this summer, plus Adventure Weekends and 2021 Priority Registration this fall. Thank you for your patience and grace as we continue to adapt to new challenges. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

5. Priority Registration for 2021
1. If you still have an active Summer Camp 2020 registration, please use the Registration Change Request Form (linked below) to let us know what you'd like to do with your balance. You may check CampBrain (linked below) to see your registration status and balance.
a. You may transfer your balance to Camp at Home, a Family Retreat, an Adventure Weekend, or to Summer Camp 2021.
b. We encourage you to consider a full or partial donation to support your outdoor ministry. Caroline Furnace is a 501(c)3 nonprofit; donations are tax deductible and a letter will be sent to you for your tax records.
c. You may request a refund. We would be grateful for a $50 partial donation per registration to help cover processing fees and administrative costs, if you are able.
2. We are open for Family Retreats in July and August, beginning on July 9. The Farmhouse, Cabin Village, and Sukkah Village will be open each weekend. 14 days of pre-screening are required for all participants. Both the Farmhouse and Sukkah Village are optional no-contact retreat spaces. We can host a maximum of 5 family groups (of 10 or less) on property at once, so spaces are limited and first come, first served.
2020 Summer Camp families get priority booking until June 30. Regular booking opens on July 1.
View Family Retreat details and check availability at the link below.
3. Register by July 6 for Camp at Home ($0-50), an exciting online Summer Camp! We are already halfway through our first session and we’re having SO MUCH FUN. With Camp at Home, you can see your favorite camp counselors and chaplains, spend time with your "cabin group", and join in on fun activities - all from home! PJs are optional. We can't wait to meet your pets. Bring your own snacks. Choose your own adventure - participate in as few or many parts as you’d like.
Register for Camp at Home at the link below. All campers get a t-shirt. Participate at no cost, and sign up for Camp in a Box if you'd like to get fun camp surprises and activity supplies delivered right to your door! Camp in a Box is $50.
4. Adventure Weekends are scheduled for September 18-20, October 30-November 1, and February 5-7. Until further notice, lodging is limited to one group per cabin. Tent camping is also available. Contact Julie at (540) 449-0012 or julie@carolinefurnace.org to reserve your Adventure Weekend cabin.
Come on your own, bring your family, or organize a group and explore the Shenandoah Valley! We'll provide lodging and meals in the Cabin Village and help you plan your adventures. During warm weather, nearby activities may include river canoeing/kayaking/tubing, horseback riding, rock climbing, ziplining, hiking, biking, and fishing. In the winter, we're just under an hour from skiing, snowboarding, and tubing at Massanutten and Bryce Resorts - plus, winter hikes in Fort Valley are spectacular. Year round, we have some great breweries and wineries nearby, plus apple orchards, farm tours, antiquing, and more.
5. Camper families who registered for Summer Camp 2020 will get priority registration for Summer Camp 2021, from October 1 to 15. Payment options will include ‘pay now’ and payment plans that can be scheduled for later. Stay tuned for our Summer Camp 2021 schedule to be released by September 15!
We continue to find hope in our 2020 theme verse, Psalm 100:5, that says, “Good indeed is the Lord, whose steadfast love endures forever. God’s faithfulness continues for all generations.”
