WE Market Co-op stands in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement. We believe in equality and commit to fighting against the injustices that people of color face on a daily basis so that all members of our community can experience a healthy and happy life.
WE believe that now is the time to make a commitment to take direct and on-going action to dismantle the systemic injustices that negatively impact people of color in our society.
As a co-op, we were founded on the ideas of democratic control, fair and equitable access, and creating a healthier community. Until all members of our community have fair and equal access to basic human rights, fair and equal access to freedom from police brutality, and fair and equal access to all of the opportunities that we ourselves enjoy, then our work will not be complete. Our efforts can no longer be limited to ensuring our own access to these "Co-operative Principles," which our co-op ownership provides, but must also include fighting for those members of our community who have been systematically silenced again and again and again.
The following are the first steps we are committed to taking in this work:
Donate 3rd Quarter RoundUp for Good funds to the cause. We are currently researching different organizations to find one that aligns most with our mission.
Host a member/community conversation about race and social justice issues in River Falls and beyond.
Inform our actions through education/training and active listening to our staff, membership, customers, and community's needs. If you have suggestions please share them with the Board at board@wholeearthgrocery.coop.
Engage with community organizations, businesses, and government to be an active partner in the movement to dismantle systemic racism in our community.
Work to address systemic racism endemic in the food system from food security to labor inequities and everything in between.

Face masks are now required while in WE Market effective June 14th. Wearing masks helps protect our staff and customers from asymptomatic COVID-19 carriers. If you cannot wear a mask, we do offer curbside services! This service is now available to both members and non-members via Square online payment service. WE Market Co-op Continuing Response to COVID-19
As many of you have probably heard, the statewide stay-at-home order has been stopped by the State Supreme Court. However, WE Market Co-op will continue to follow the guidelines set forth in that order to continue to do our part to help ensure the health and safety of our customers, staff, and community during this pandemic. Below is a comprehensive list of the measures we have put into place.
Face masks required in store.
6 foot social distancing.
Designated 9am-10am Monday-Friday for seniors and immunosuppressed customers only.
Surfaces and door handles wiped down & sanitized repeatedly throughout the day.
Re-used bulk water containers must be ones that have been purchased at the co-op per Pierce County Health Department.
No self-service bulk or re-use of containers for bulk per State order. Staff are available for full service bulk offering a variety of bags and containers free of charge!
Back entrance closed to the public.
Staff temperatures are monitored regularly.
Staff will not report to work and will consult their health care provider if they are experiencing any of the three main symptoms of COVID-19: fever, persistent cough, or shortness of breath.
