Some days I don't really have words to share. Life isn't always easy and even living in a village doesn't make things a fairytale...unless you remember that fairytales are rife with struggles and hardships. I think it was GK Chesterton that said, "Fairy tales do not tell children the dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children the dragons can be killed.” So I'll try not to linger too much on the struggles, but rather try to take pleasure and share the quiet joys worth fighting for. The elderflower has started to bloom and the sun lingers long into the evenings. The air is filled with the scent of honeysuckle and green things and the sounds of swifts over the rooftops of the village.

If I mention Patreon often it's because these days my content earnings don't cover the bills. It feels awkward admitting that as I see other bloggers with similar numbers earn 4 or 5 figures a gig when some months I don't earn 4 figures total. Brands and agencies can't seem to place me, so most months I share posts purely because it helps me escape and I love photography and I hope that with enough of a portfolio eventually the right brands will find me.
