From the Archives...

ABOVE: Memories of summer excursions past. This color postcard from the 1960's shows the VIRGINIA V with a full load of happy passengers in the Ballard Locks. At that time, the VIRGINIA V was one of several ships owned and operated by the Puget Sound Excursion Lines. Many things have changed since this photo was taken, but tourists still gather at the Locks to see the VIRGINIA V travel through on summer trips to the salt water.

The V stands for "Volunteer"

Are you or a friend interested in becoming a VIRGINIA V volunteer? Let us know!  Come help operate the ship as a member of the deck crew. No experience is necessary - we will train you. You can even learn to help maintain and operate the century-old steam engine!  In addition, there are many other support tasks we need help with and much of that work can be done remotely. If you were a volunteer in the past and you'd like to get involved again, please also let us know.  We look forward to hearing from you!
