Social Distancing & Video Shoots
Safety of our customers, staff and freelancers is our priority
We are working as normal (our new)

Safety of our customers, staff and freelancers is our priority, and last week it was great to be back on a video shoot while observing Social Distancing.

We certainly don’t want to put anyone at risk so we’ve come up with some guidelines, which will enable us all to continue working, while ensuring everyone remains safe.
Ensuring hygiene, health & safety

Following the latest government guidelines, we'll keep the crew to a minimum but as always, quality assured.
  • Equipment is kept secure and is always wiped with alcohol based disinfectant wipes prior to storage and further use
  • Our crew will load/unload equipment avoiding any unnecessary contact
  • We always have disposable face masks, gloves and wipes
  • We'll supply our refreshments on the day, to avoid using on-site catering facilities

Whilst on location

On arrival at the location, observing social distancing rules, we will keep one metre apart from our clients and any other persons on-site.
  • Our production crew will always wear a face mask or visor while on-site
  • On arrival, the team will wash their hands thoroughly and continue to wash their hands regularly
  • We do supply disposable gloves, but medical experts suggest that washing hands regularly provides better protection

  • Only the crew will carry, set-up and use our equipment and where possible avoid touching other surfaces or objects
  • Some contact is unavoidable, but we provide disinfectant wipes and spray so that surfaces can be regularly wiped down
Our approach to recording

Our approach to recording will be dependent on the subject matter but as a general guide the client would explain or demonstrate each sequence to be shot, and then if not required within the shot, step back to provide a safe space for the camera operator to light and record the scene. To be fair, this in not very different to how we would normally work.
Observing via monitor

We will provide a separate monitor, at least a metre from the camera [and  operator], so the clients can safely observe what is being shot, without looking over the camera person's shoulder.

Sound recording

There may be times, when a sound recordist is required, for example when recording a presenter. They will also observe social distancing and use a microphone mounted on a fish-pole, [rather than a lapel mic] to prevent any direct physical contact with the person being filmed.
Please let us know how you feel?

We are here, to discuss any questions you may have to make filming a safe environment, so you can relax whilst we capture the best footage for your online learning solutions.

If you have any suggestions on how we might work even safer, let us know and we will update these guidelines.
