We know amidst the COVID-19 that our state and Alachua County have been working hard to keep our students and teachers safe and on track with their educational goals. Although we don't know exactly what Fall 2020 will look like for our K-12 students, we are 100% certain that school will be occur in the Fall in some shape or form (currently Alachua County plans to start Fall classes on or about August 10).
Each year, our community has helped Peaceful Paths support over 175+ students whose families have been impacted by domestic violence. Please read on to see how you can support our

You can help prepare a child for
Back to School 2020!
With your help, Peaceful Paths will provide backpacks and school supplies to children we serve that have been impacted by domestic violence. By providing children with these needed resources, it is one less worry for them and their family. You can make a difference today in a child's life by participating in our Stuffed Backpack Program.
For each $25 backpack sponsored, you can touch a child's life by setting them up for educational success.
The focus for the last few months in the child and youth department has been to make the spaces at outreach and shelter warm and inviting for the children who need our services. Spaces have been enlivened with donations from the community, and children are delving into expanded activities.
Children have been cooking, exploring sensory activities, creating art, enjoying music and dance, and practicing calming strategies. Youth support groups are back in action, and topics such as diversity, racism, gender stereotypes, stress and coping, and support systems are at the forefront of discussions. Books and activities make the discussions concrete and approachable for the children, who vary in age.
Due to closings around COVID-19 we have been unable to bring our prevention work to schools and community centers, so instead we are working to build digital content for youth and teens. In preparation for fall, we are very excited to fund raise for back to school supplies for children and youth in need.
Getting new school supplies is such a happy feeling, and being able to share that joy with so many children is a true gift. Thank you for all you do as a community to support the
