Make Your Willamette Valley Responsible Reopening Commitment

The Willamette Valley has always been known as a place that is approachable, welcoming and genuine. As we look forward to welcoming guests back to the place we all love to call home, it is important to recognize our shared responsibility and respect for the health and safety of our locals, communities and environment.

That is why we are launching the Willamette Valley Responsible Reopening commitment, an industry-led campaign designed to encourage businesses to elevate a valley-wide message of unity, care and excellence

We ask you to join your fellow businesses and pledge to implement these self-regulated Willamette Valley Community Commitments, in addition to mandated state requirements, for the health and safety of locals and visitors alike.

By making the Willamette Valley Responsible Reopening commitment, you promise to:
  • Encouraging physical distancing by posting signage
  • Adopting and implementing enhanced sanitation procedures designed to combat the transmission of COVID-19

  • Utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks and gloves and encouraging customers to do so, when appropriate
  • Taking reservations or appointments when possible to manage capacity

More about the campaign
The goal is to use the Willamette Valley Responsible Reopening to build consumer confidence within our region and ensure Oregon’s Willamette Valley is a safe place to once again experience and appreciate world-class wine, epicurean adventures, relaxing getaways and bountiful scenic beauty.

The Responsible Reopening campaign was developed in response to the coronavirus pandemic and in conjunction with the safe reopening of businesses throughout the region. These practices align with the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines, but have been elevated and supported by partners like the Willamette Valley Wineries Assoc., Willamette Riverkeeper, Oregon Agritourism Partnership and many local Destination Marketing Associations (DMOs).

The campaign is launching within our industry on June 10. We are asking you to encourage regional business participation within the next two weeks. Once we have valley-wide commitments we will launch a consumer campaign on June 23 with a promotional push to:  willamettevalley.org.

Commit your Willamette Valley business by filling out the form on this page and we will supply promotional materials for business (while supplies last).

The Oregon Restaurant and Lodging Association (ORLA), our partner in that industry, has released Commitment to Safety Checklists for both lodging and restaurants members. This campaign has ORLA's full support and we encourage lodging and restaurant partners to utilize both campaigns if applicable. For guidance in regard to best practices and procedures, those businesses should refer to the Oregon Restaurant & Lodging Association or contact ORLA Regional Representative Greg Staneruck for specific tools or questions.
