CSAC, County Officials Hold Press Conference on Budget Concerns
Ahead of the State Budget vote, Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda Solis and Sonoma County Supervisor James Gore joined county human services, behavioral health, and public health officials from across California to urge support for county safety-net services funding in the 2020-2021 State budget. The press conference was streamed live on Facebook and you can access a recording here. A post-conference news release with summaries of key speaker statements is available here. We encourage all counties to reach out to Governor Newsom and the Legislature to support county funding in the 2020-2021 state budget.
Opportunity for Collaboration: Mask Awareness + Outreach
Jolena Voorhis with San Joaquin County reached out to CSAC regarding the increase of positive cases in many counties and the pressure to increase public outreach and awareness about safety precautions. She's inquiring whether there are other counties that would be interested in working together on mask campaigns. San Joaquin County is planning to launch a campaign using CARES act funding, but would like to use some of the campaign slogans used by other Counties (Santa Clara County, for example). If interested, please contact Jolena at jvoorhis@sjgov.org
