St. Luke Radiant Sanctuary Space

At Home
Before worship starts, each household is encouraged to:
  1. Light a candle (be your own acolyte!). Or, light a lamp.
  2. Open your Bible (a Bible app on your phone is fine) and today's readings.
  3. * Prepare a place at a table (coffee table or desk is fine). Do you have a flower you can put in a vase? a cross? Liturgical decorations for the Season of Pentecost?
  4. For the Sacrament of Holy Communion:  Prepare a plate with one slice, piece, or loaf of bread to be broken and shared, and enough cups of wine (red, rose, or white are all fine) or grape juice for each part participant.  Cover everything with a clean cloth or napkin.
* send us a snapshot of you and your "St. Luke Radiant (at home) Sanctuary Space" and we'd love to place several photos into the July Horizon newsletter!

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny?
Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart
from your Father.  And even the hairs of your head
are all counted.  So do not be afraid;
you are of more value than many sparrows.

(Jesus, speaking in Matthew 10:29-30)

 St. Luke Global Church Explorations
in the age of home quarantines …

Are you interested in exploring what the Holy Spirit is doing in Global Mission Ministry at and through St. Luke Church?  We have an opportunity to learn about, pray for, educate our church and community about, exchange letters and video chats with, and support & sponsor:
1) an ELCA pastor and educator in Beijing, China, The Rev. Dorcas Wang
2)  an ELCA pastor and church history professor, The Rev. Dr. Carolyn Schneider preparing to teach at a church seminary in the Philippines, starting this summer
3) and closer to home, The Navajo Lutheran Mission [ELCA – connected] in Rock Point, AZ, near the Four Corners area where Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah meet, exists in “… partnership with the Navajo People in that ministry of caring for one another.” This ministry includes a church, school, clinic, cultural and spiritual discovery center. Visit online at www.nelm.org.

At this time we are beginning to explore possibilities and gage interest in forming a St. Luke Global Explorations Ministry Team. Please contact either of us if you are interested, we would love to brainstorm together – perhaps over some global cuisines after the quarantines have lifted!
