Considerations
Fair to say that we're 100% up and running now in terms of matches and trainings. Of course we all miss the hours that takes part in or around the clubhouse, but considering many of us thought back in March that we would not be able to play a single ball this season, we're in a quite luxury position for a couple of reasons.
All members are able to train. The juniors train at least twice a week, the seniors once or twice. A big thank you to all coaches involved, your contributions are invaluable!
All members are able to play matches on our main ground. The juniors on Saturday morning/ afternoon and the seniors later on Saturday and on Sunday. This week we announced the start of the Muco & Friends T20 Premier League (below in this news letter you can find more info). And we're organising something similar for the older juniors and the non-selection seniors (Zami, Zomi, VCC 4) on Saturdays. We're lucky that we have so many members we can play two different 4-team leagues (with some help of company cricket teams). On the website there are fixture lists for both Leagues. Ball sponsor for three balls during the first weekend is the Mulder family!
Without international matches the grass wicket can accomodate more matches and it is obvious that everybody really enjoys playing on our beautiful ground on grass. A big thank you here goes to the ground staff and other handy men that -sometimes invisibly- put in a lot of hours to make this all possible. (the excitement and gratitude to find a socket outside of the clubhouse where you can plug in the remote control of the score board!).
Finally, it is interesting to see that teams like playing fellow club members. Rather than touring the Randstad in silos (individual teams), there is a unique opportunity to get to know your own club members much better!
A lot to be thankful of and proud on. We'll grab the momentum and see if we can make it a great season after all, hoping we can open the club house on July 1. In this newsletter amongst others we'll ask your attention to help run that club house and assist in some facility matters, we'll invite you for an online AGM, we look at our member base and encourage you to bring in even more new cricket loving people.
