Booking for Shop & Go markets (June-August) is OPEN - please read the below before applying

Hi all,

Booking for ALL our Saturday markets for summer (June to August) is OPEN! Please carefully read all of the below before applying, then click here to book

Note: Levenshulme Market is temporarily operating as Levenshulme Market Shop & Go. This is a modified model incorporating social distancing and hygiene measures. See below for all the details of what Shop & Go is and how it differs from our regular markets.

Please try to apply before Monday 21st June - after this date we'll be processing and confirming bookings. We will still be accepting applications after this date, but we expect many of the spaces to be filled by then - so please apply as early as you can!

You can apply through our webshop. Please read our guidance on using the webshop and completing your application.

We do not request payment at this time as you are only requesting dates - your allocated bookings will be confirmed by email along with the link to pay for your stalls.

How to book
  • The webshop works just like any other retail site, where you add products (in this case, market dates) to your cart. Simply click on a date, select your stall size and electricity options and click 'add to cart'.
  • You can add multiple dates to your cart - you don't need to check out after adding each one . You can make use of the 'Back' button near the top of the page, under our logo. The website should also remember the items you've saved in your cart, so you can navigate back to the list of dates in another way and your previously added dates should still be in your cart.
  • We do not request any payment at this stage, as you are simply requesting the dates you would like. The link for payment will be provided once we email to confirm which dates you've been allocated.
More details for booking are below, but we also have lots more information on our trader pages here so please have a good read through.

Shop & Go
These are the key points about Shop & Go which you may need to consider when booking.
  • This is a socially distanced market, with separate entry and exit points and our staff monitoring and restricting customer access.
  • Due to the changes we're making to the market, under Shop & Go we're unable to offer shared or double stalls and won't be able to accommodate vans or trailers which are 3.6m or over.
  • We have a supply of PPE and cleaning products onsite but all traders must bring their own hand sanitizer, face-masks and gloves. Those preparing food onsite must also bring their usual hand-washing facilities.
  • There are only to be contactless payments onsite - if you currently operate as a cash only trader and aren't sure about how to go about setting up for card payments, let me know and we'll do what we can to help so you can continue trading with us.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available for customers on entry.
  • We will operate a one way circuit around the market, with one customer a time at each stall. Customers will be allowed to circulate the market as many time as they wish.
  • We're aiming for customers to browse with their eyes rather than with their hands which may affect what products you intend to sell and how you merchandise your stall. We won't be allowing any free samples.
  • This is a work in progress, one to which we expect to be reacting and adapting as necessary when changes in the government medical guidance are announced or if unforeseen factors require us to make some changes to how we operate.
Prices
Despite the market running below half-capacity under the Shop & Go model, we've taken the decision to maintain our stall fees at our usual rate. This is £37 for a single stall or a vehicle that is 3.5m or less. Due to the changes we're making to the market, under Shop & Go we're unable to offer shared or double stalls and won't be able to accommodate vans or trailers which are 3.6m or over. The cost for electricity (if required) is £6 per single allocation (1400w use) or £12 per double allocation (2800w use). You can view and download a full list of our standard stall fees for 2020 here

Payment Policy
As always, we will be requesting online payments in advance and no traders will be permitted to trade without payment of stall fees. When your bookings are confirmed by us in an email, we will provide you with a payment schedule and deadline dates. Given the relatively quick turnaround these will initially be weekly deadlines rather than monthly ones. But the principle remains that anyone who has not paid the required amount by the deadline date will have their bookings cancelled and offered to the next trader on the waiting list.

Cancellation policy
When you receive the email from us confirming which dates you've been allocated, you'll have 7 days from the date the email was sent to tell us whether you want to make any changes. This is your chance to tell us if you need to cancel any of the dates you initially booked.

After this 7 day cooling off period, our standard cancellation policy will apply:

You are free to cancel bookings provided you give us at least 7 days' notice before your trading date, but there will now be an admin charge (a small percentage of your stall fee) that will not be refunded. Please see our Cancellation Policy below. Details of admin fees are included on our Price List for your reference. We are not currently planning to make any changes to either during the Shop & Go period.

Cancellation of a stall by a trader (must be done by email only):
  • UP TO 7 days before trading date - the stall fee will be refunded minus admin fee
  • AFTER 7 days before trading date no refund due, the full stall fee will be retained
If we are forced to cancel a market due to adverse weather (force majeure):
  • The stall fee will be refunded minus admin fee.
Dates
The dates of the Shop & Go markets are listed here

Friday Night markets and Tuesday UoM markets
Our night markets, usually held on the third weekend of the month, have been cancelled for the time being. Once we feel it's safe to begin running them again we'll make sure to be in touch with everyone. Likewise, the Tuesday food markets we usually run at the University of Manchester are on hold for the foreseeable until the campus returns to a kind of normality.

Terms and Conditions
Our standard Terms and Conditions for traders can be found here and you will be asked to agree to abide by them when you fill out your booking. Please read them carefully before booking.

If you have any questions at all please drop me a line - richard@levymarket.com.

Happy booking everyone! .
