Matthew 25 and Two Calls to Action
On December 9, the Presbytery of Boston voted to become a Matthew 25 Mid Council, accepting the invitation to live into three focus areas: building congregational vitality, dismantling structural racism, and eradicating systemic poverty. There is now a dedicated tab on our website with information about the Matthew 25 vision and these three focus areas.
You can find it by clicking here.
As part of living into that challenge, you are invited to join in two Calls to Action, one related to dismantling structural racism and one related to eradicating systemic poverty. These calls to action are also related to building congregational vitality, which directs our focus outside of ourselves and into our communities as part of being the body of Christ.
Read below to learn more about how we are living into our commitment to be a Matthew 25 people!

Call to Action:
June 20, 2020
The Poor People's Campaign is holding a Mass Digital Assembly and Moral March on Washington on June 20, 2020. When we set the dates for our digital PC(USA) General Assembly, we intentionally kept June 20 clear so it would be possible for all to participate.
This call to action is directly related to our commitment to eradicate systemic poverty. You can learn more through our website and you can register to join the Mass Assembly by clicking here.

Call to Action:
21-Day Racial Justice Challenge
As part of our commitment to dismantle structural racism, you are invited to join in the 21-Day Racial Justice Challenge, formulated by the PC(USA) and shared through the Matthew 25 website.
We will begin the challenge on Monday, July 6 and complete it on Sunday, July 26.
Three different opportunities for conversation will be offered, but you can also form your own small group to go even deeper. Perhaps the entire session will commit to the challenge, or even most of the congregation. Perhaps a group of colleagues and friends who extend beyond our area will join together. However you do it, the purpose is to engage in daily learning challenges for 21 days, and to go deeper through conversation.
You can learn more and register to join the challenge on our website by clicking here.
