Hometime!
We waited out the coronavirus in Thailand for over three months. It wasn't a problem for us as we were lucky enough to stay with some amazing people.
But, a few months back in Chiang Mai, Alissa had an MRI scan on her leg because it had been getting harder to walk on. The surgeon found that a bit of metal screwed into her fibula is rubbing on tendons and has to be removed to stop the pain.
It’s now got to the point where it’s difficult to walk and isn’t getting any better. So, we figured it was probably a good idea to catch a flight back and get on the waiting list for an op… we weren't exactly doing much in Thailand apart from sweating and eating doughnuts.
Plus, we’ve been waiting for Malaysia to open its borders to foreigners. Malaysia has pushed back that date four times and it was supposed to open on 9th June. It was recently announced that it has been pushed back again until 31st August. So, it’s not like we could go anywhere anyway.
So, two days ago we left the bike and caught a flight to Heathrow. We're now back in the UK, quarantining for two weeks and are going to try and get a hospital appointment.
But most importantly, it's just so good to have a proper cup of tea again!
Happy travels, stay safe and thanks for sticking with us,
Andy and Alissa
