New angles to consider COVID-19 in Africa

This month we highlight three items that look at the pandemic’s impact on Africa from different perspectives:
Youth employment. Researchers undertaking studies on youth employment within the Boosting Decent Employment for Africa’s Youth programme must be mindful of the possible COVID-19 implications. This contribution by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), International Labour Organization (ILO) and INCLUDE highlights the learnings gained during this pandemic from a researcher's perspective.
Social protection and social safety net programmes have been promoted worldwide to mitigate the fall-out of lockdown measures. Being a theme at the core of INCLUDE’s earlier work, our knowledge managers were happy to reflect on the social protection measures that have been put in place in response to the pandemic.
