Yes, you can you manage without traveling

The SmartEyes kit is now out and about. The creation process of SmartEyes was in many ways stepping into totally new areas. Some of the pieces were already there, but we needed to wrap those and a lot of new code and several pieces of hardware we hadn’t used before into a completely new package. It took a fair amount of innovativeness and some very heavy doses of team effort. The result: if you have to see what’s happening at a remote site, this solution provides you with all the needed interaction and visibility. In fact, you may end up doing better support from your home office than at the site after tiring long-distance traveling.

But that’s enough talk, here’s an example of how the kit looks like at a remote site:

And how the data is transmitted onto the expert's display:

Speeding up digital

Our first experience of business during the COVID-19 pandemic is positively surprising. Not to paint an overly rosy picture, we could all do without these difficulties, but the fact is we’ve had more projects, in addition to the Kiilto and SmartEyes, starting than during the previous half. The growing need to find new ways to work and support customers remotely is one explanation, the other may be a more generic realization of companies in every field of the industry: they really need to speed up digitalization efforts.

Why use markers?

One of our current projects includes SmartAlert and using the Augumenta marker technology with it. Markers stand their ground with smartglasses and augmented reality in industrial use. They are a very cost-efficient, simple, and precise method to tie digital content to a certain place or object. For example, showing manuals and instructions connected to the piece of equipment you are working with. Our own markers are reliably read even in smaller sizes and challenging environments. One of our guys made this simple comparison video about how the Augumenta markers differ from the standard ones.

Virtual panels by the dozens

Another project that we’re working with right now will take our virtual control panels into a manufacturing factory and into communicating with robots at the facility. What’s exceptional in this project compared to other SmartPanel projects so far is the large number of panels placed there. The key value-add with AR control panels could not be more evident here: the magnitude of effort to set up the same amount of physical control panels would be exponential.

Have a look at one of our "How-To" -videos about creating panels with the Studio.

Get to know us better

We'd love to get to know you better too. Choosing a technology partner for a project is not always easy. What kind of team matches the target and capability requirements of your projects? We wanted to draft an article to help you get to know us better and especially find out what are the key strengths of the Augumenta team:
