This 2020 summer seems promising for echOpen with important steps in the medical device development coming up and new collaborations for the community.

What's going on this summer?

Welcome to Brad and Edwin who are joining echOpen for the summer
Brad and Edwin are both in their second year of computer studies at Epitech Benin. They'll be working for two months on the integration of echOpen to Kea Medicals, a platform connecting Beninese healthcare facilities giving access to patient health history.

A new identity for echOpen
During this summer we'll be working with creative agency l'AtelierPaon in Cotonou, Benin on a local adaptation of our identity. We'll keep you posted!
echOpen User Journey
This summer echOpen is launching a user research project to understand the impact of echOpen on the care pathway. This project is using a design approach in order to identify healthcare professionals' needs and find solutions together to improve the device and its implementation.
Watch Pascal Carpentier on IASC 2020 web conference
From July 13. to July 27. IASC web conference on African Commons will bring together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers on the governance of shared resources in Africa. Pascal Carpentier has been selected among the 70 panelists taking part in the discussion. His video presentation on Open Source Hardware with a case study on echOpen will be available during the whole event.

echOpen is proud to be part of the Coclican project which promotes international research collaboration and knowledge sharing to assist the early detection of liver cancer.

echOpen is an open and collaborative project and community, led by a multidisciplinary core of experts and senior professionals with the aim of designing a functional affordable and open source echo-stethoscope (ultrasound probe) connected to a smartphone, allowing the radical transformation of diagnostic orientation in hospitals, general medicine and medically underserved areas. This initiate is aimed for health professionals from southern and northern countries.
