AccessHE: Your Week Ahead
This week we'll be contributing a series of live events hosted on YouTube as a part of the London Careers Festival, 29 June - 3 July. These sessions have been designed to give secondary and post-16 learners an impression of the choices available to them, as well as providing the soft skills to translate their ambitions into reality. For more information, and to sign students up to these individual sessions please see below.

There is also still time to sign up for the AccessHE Academy:
a blended-learning course designed for Teachers and Career Advisers to support them in working with their students on progression to higher education. Schools will be given £900 per teacher to cover staff time for the 3-day event, which will:
  • Introduce participants to key areas of HE progression theory and practice
  • Examine the range of resources/materials including those online that can be used with learners
  • Support the development of a school-based project for academic year 2020-21.

AccessHE Academy
In July 2020, AccessHE will launch its inaugural AccessHE Academy programme: a blended-learning course designed for Teachers and Career Advisers to support them in working with their students on progression to higher education.

The Access Academy Programme is a 3-day course that will:
  • Introduce participants to key areas of HE progression theory and practice
  • Examine the range of resources/materials including those online that can be used with learners
  • Support the development of a school-based project for academic year 2020-21.
AccessHE will provide participating schools with £900 per teacher to cover staff time commitment. Schools may forward more than one teacher/adviser to participate in the programme. It is the expectation that the projects developed by participants are implemented over the academic year 2020-21. A brief outline of this proposed project will be required as part of the application process for the programme.

Graduates of the AccessHE Academy will also be eligible to apply for additional funds in the academic year 2020/21 to support the delivery of projects.

Find more information about the programme here, or contact tayler.meredith@londonhigher.ac.uk for further details

AccessHE Creative Forum
At the next e-meeting of the AccessHE Creative Forum on 16 July at 2-3pm, we are seeking to host a panel discussion with HEIs and awarding bodies for conversations around the provision of creative education and outreach in a post-lockdown environment.

For this, we welcome the perspectives of teachers, career leads and other schools staff across London to understand how best the London HE landscape can be supporting school stakeholders to bridge the gap between pre-entry access and higher education provision. If you'd like to attend our meeting, please get in touch with us.
