South Portland's Black Betty's Bistro is manned by Chef Louis Pickens, trained by his chef grandparents in Texas. He's all about "flavor, y'all!" He offers weekly family meals that feed 4 people for $60 and this week's is perfect for a 4th of July backyard celebration. On the menu: grilled BBQ pork ribs, beef brisket or stuffed Italian banana peppers (vegan!), with side dishes like black bean and roasted corn salad. You can mix your order to get some of each, AND you can order Gorgeous Gelato for dessert. Order by Thursday at 5 p.m. for Saturday pick up by emailing chef@blackbettysbistro.com

The King's Head has a new outdoor beer garden on the wharf. Take in the water views while deciding which of their 35, mostly local, draft beers to order. And here's a happy reminder: happy hour starts at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday, with $4 select pints.

Show your love for our frontline workers and local economy by proudly flying Maine Flag Company's “Heart of it All” banner. This simple design is well known in Portland as a symbol of our community’s love for our many small businesses. 100% of the profits from sales of this limited edition flag will be donated to feed frontline medical workers, in partnership with restaurants in the Portland area. We LOVE this idea.
