Managing Menopause Naturally
The perimenopause transitional period into menopause and post menopause constitute an average of a seven year natural process. For some women, this process takes much longer, beginning at around age 35 and culminating at approximately age 55, ultimately ending in the cessation of the female cycle and fertility.
During this transition, the whole neuro-endocrine system must transform towards a new system as it resets multiple physical, biochemical, energetic and emotional systems.
Dr. Nooshin K. Darvish explains the transition into menopause as “a lifting of the veil of hormones as a doorway to new beginnings”.
During this time, women may experience hot flashes, weight gain, sleep issues, fatigue, memory loss, emotional and relationship shifts and much more. As estrogen, the female hormone that was once protective against heart disease, cholesterol, brain health and more, declines, risks for acute and chronic diseases increase. Studies show bio-identical hormone therapy, lifestyle and dietary changes, meditation and several other supportive therapies create an easier transition.
During the next Instagram and Facebook Live Q&A this coming Thursday, July 2nd at 12pm PM, Dr. Darvish and Dr. Marian discuss menopause as a natural process that needs to be supported versus treated.
