Heaven Begins on Earth

by Doug Bing, Washington Conference president

The taste of freshly baked apple pie is heavenly. The majestic sounds of Handel’s Messiah playing in a concert hall is an amazingly heavenly sound. The smell of home baked bread is a heavenly smell. Available by Appointment

Washington Conference Office employees are transitioning from working at home to working in the office once again. The building is currently closed to the public. In-person and virtual visits with ministry leaders are available by appointment.

The conference office will be closed on Monday, July 6, in observance of Independence Day.

A Summer of Ministry

Auburn City pastors Ofa Langi and Tommy Tamalea'a tried for weeks to find a source of food to share with their neighbors. The doors kept closing, until about a month ago when Auburn City secured their first batch of food to share and opened a partnership to offer free Covid-19 testing. The response of neighbors has been phenomenal!

"The Covid-testing had to shut down early this week because so many people showed up," says Langi. "We had cars wrapped around the block."

The food sharing also continues to be a miracle week after week. "I never know what food we will have to share in the next week," Langi says. "Yet God always provides so we keep stepping out in faith."

Washington Conference churches, schools, and ministries are beginning to safely reopen following four phases. We've rounded up the latest reopening information.
