not the standing
in the sand.

Even here in quarantine
I remember
the feel of wind
behind my wishing.

I know it is not the remembering
that pulls the sun up
from that blind horizon —

It is the wish,
simple and certain
from my lips
that makes room 
for the light,

offering up
the fresh depths
of my breath.
