The 2020 Boston Poetry Marathon Will Take Place Online, Fri & Sat, Aug 7 & 8
Greetings Fellow Poets!
We hope this message finds you as well as things can be in the current circumstances. The Spring and Summer of 2020 have been a TIME. For our part, when it comes to the Boston Poetry Marathon, we have been busy working on plans, and we have FOUR announcements for you today!
Online for 2020
We have decided to hold the Boston Poetry Marathon online for 2020, due to the Covid19 health emergency. Even though things are opening back up in the northeast, an event like the Boston Poetry Marathon - which involves so many people - can only safely take place in 2020 in a virtual space. The event will occur online on Friday and Saturday, August 7 & 8. Details will be coming soon!
Fundraising for 2020
We usually fundraise for the current year's poetry marathon costs and put the rest to next year. This year, though, we will be fundraising for organizations that support racial justice. We will have a lot more details about this coming very soon.
Two New Members of the Organizing Team
We have two more organizers this year! Please welcome Christina Liu and Christina Strong as organizers for 2020, along with your artistic directors, Bridget Eileen and Suzanne Mercury.
