Communion Sunday

Dear Hanover Saints,
Greetings this day accompany my best hopes, wishes, and prayers that you and yours are well. As we prepare to share in the (virtual) sacrament again on Sunday, may we be moved and inspired by the bread and the cup through which our unity is both promised and received. If you've ever wrestled with "what makes communion communion?" be sure to catch this Sunday's message as we explore our shared mysterious and powerful experience.

I'm typing this with one hand because the other one is trying to pack. We'll be heading out today on our annual pilgrimage to Maine. Like the rest of life, we know it will be a very different experience this year. And so it is because we are able to go at all that we are more grateful than ever.

We will be holding you all in our prayers, with anticipation for our return to worship together when we get back.  In my absence, know that you can call Twyla with any questions or requests. And if you are in need of pastoral care, Tim is more than ready to respond.

May this and all your days be filled with grace, hope, light, and...
Peace,

Andy
The "Reopening" Plan

Dear Hanover Saints,
With great gratitude to the Session and Worship Committee, the plans to gather for worship in the sanctuary continue to take form and shape. For the Sunday services up through July 19, we will continue to record and send them out on Saturday nights. Barring any developments that would make it unsafe, we are planning to worship together in person again on Sunday, July 26.

In the time leading up to the day of our reunion, we will be communicating the details so that we will all have a sense of what we can expect.  Given all of the precautions, it will be a service unlike any we have seen before. And yet the grace and blessings of God will prevail!

May you continue to receive God’s presence in each of your days and places, and may you be blessed with deep and abiding faith and hope…and patience. Let us wait in…
Peace,
Andy

Let us pray for the safety of our first responders over the upcoming holiday weekend; that they may be swift, compassionate, and fully able to serve all people in our nation.

In our ongoing effort to stay connected and support one another, we have scheduled a Zoom meeting every Wednesday from 5:30-6:30. All are encouraged to check in, and you can do so with an internet-connected computer, smart phone, or telephone.

Contact the church office if you would like the Zoom link. Praise God for the safe space to learn and grow together - especially in the midst of crisis.

A "VIRTUAL" JEREMIAH'S COFFEEHOUSE!
This talent call is going out to everyone - we'd like to have a "virtual" Jeremiah's Coffee House!  If you have something to share - musical, poetry, a story, a craft - anything - take a short recording of it and send it in to the Church Office at: churchadmin@hanoverchurch.org.  Once we gather our recordings, we'll have Tom Davis work his magic on them, and make them into a "virtual" coffeehouse.
