GLOBAL HEALTH MESSAGE

Addressing Racial Inequities in Health Outcomes During COVID and Beyond

Yesterday marked the one month anniversary of the murder of George Floyd.

In the month that has followed, we have borne witness to the breathtaking fervor that has swept through our communities who are demanding justice; who are demanding that the rights to safety, security and health are upheld in equal regard, for everyone. And, we have felt the support of neighbors the world over who have joined us in protest.

We know that some among us, whether neighbors across the street or across the globe, are more vulnerable. We know many of us endure the long lasting implications of social determinants of health, which includes endemic violence.

Too often, this is endured in silence.

Part of our mission at the Center for Global Health & Social Responsibility is to embolden and elevate the voices that need to be heard in order for all of us to understand how we can do our part to impact lasting, systemic change.

This week, in partnership with the Human Rights Lab, we offered our platform to experts in their respective fields to elevate their voices and to address racial inequities in health outcomes during COVID and beyond. If you were not among the 550+ attendees who joined us, we invite you to watch the recorded webinar. If you were able to join, we invite you to watch again and reflect on the messages delivered.

In the weeks and months to come, we aim to elevate more voices. We hope to create the space for these critical conversations to occur, and we hope that by doing so, we will do our part to  achieve a better tomorrow.

Thank you.
