Dearest Karoosters
Looking ahead to BookBedonnerd XIII we have been seriously looking at ways and means to gather a great bunch of people and to, on the other hand ensure everyone’s absolute safety. We will ask anyone who may have the flu or who is sick to please stay at home and get better...you just never know.
Once in town we will ensure that everyone is temperatured regularly by volunteers as well as hand sanitized, such that you may fear dying of sanitizer blues more than anything else.
Talks and performances will be more and more outdoor and open spaces affairs so we will ask all visitors to bring camping chairs and even fold up tables as much as possible. We will have multiple venues and smaller groups. We will kiss and hug at two metres!.....I recommend that we all carry note books to record who we owe a kiss, hug, and gronch to when the time comes that we can get back to regular casual body contact and greetings. Booktown Richmond is a gregarious gathering and this aspect will be foreign to all of us.
Dining will be increasingly a street event and we envisage dinners spread out on Loop Street from the library to the Supper Klub! If you like light feel free to bring a lantern.
This event is a work in progress and we are counting on there being no serious second Covid waves toward the end of the year.
