Make This Your Last Time | Bar Exam Preparation
<<First Name>>,

Last week, we talked about starting from where you are. You were told to “practice practice practice.”

But something’s wrong…

No matter how many times you do it, every essay is a mystery.

The blank-page syndrome is giving you irregular heartbeats and making you break out into a cold sweat.

You keep picking the incorrect answer choice on your MBE questions.

The prospect of grading your work makes you want to lie down on your bed instead.

Here’s why you’re stuck and what to do to get unstuck:

Observe the “10-40-40-10 rule” of bar preparation.

Read: "How should you really practice for the bar exam?"

Read to find out what constitutes a more effective bar preparation (there are diagrams and shit):
  • 10% ____ ____
  • 40% ____ (it’s not about just working our asses off or spinning our wheels. We also want to put in smart work)
  • 40% ____ (at least as important but most people don't spend enough time on this!)
  • 10% ____ ____

Doing the physical work is only part of the equation. The physical work is supported by the right frame of mind. You know how hard it is to focus if you’re anxious, you’re unmotivated, you’re stressed…

(If you've ever been heartbroken, you know how impossible it is.)

Do you relate? What to do? Let’s talk about it next week.

Brian
