Dear Parents/Carers,
This week sees the conclusion of Term 2, and what a whirlwind it has been! The situation with COVID-19 has presented many challenges both in our everyday lives and here at school. Many of our daily routines have needed to changed and I have been so thankful for the way everyone has transitioned to these. During the height of the restrictions, attendance rates for students ranged from 10-25. The staff here at St Patrick’s are to be commended on their commitment, work ethic and willingness to ensure our students could access the curriculum. Our families are to be commended for their patience, understanding and willingness to take part in such a challenging learning platform and change of routine, and finally our students are to be commended for their resilience and ability to take everything in their stride.
Tomorrow (Friday) is our Pyjama Day to raise funds for Uganda Kids. Don't forget to bring a gold coin donation, wear your pjs & bring a blanket for our movie afternoon. A fun way to finish Term 2.
This term has seen the appointment of an Interim Director into our Diocese, Mrs Elizabeth O’Carrigan. Elizabeth joins our Diocese with a wealth of experience as a catholic system leader, most recently as Director of the Eastern Region, Sydney Catholic Schools. We were fortunate to welcome Elizabeth and Assistant Director Prue Horan into our school last week. The visit allowed Elizabeth to gain an insight into our wonderful school community.
Yesterday was the final session for Parent Teacher interviews. Thank you to all of you who have booked a time to check in with your child’s teacher. The 2020 assessment and reporting period for Semester 1 has looked very different but this has been a great opportunity to check in and identify your child’s learning strengths and areas which they find challenging. A summary of your interview and child’s progress will go home via Compass in Week 6, next term.
