In a continued effort to adapt to the "new normal," CCS has taken their drop in summer program to the virtual world! Still free and still fun, this now opens us up to participation regardless of school district! All ages, all grades, all schools, and all districts are welcome.

Putting the "Screen" in Sunscreen

With kids and families still navigating a socially distanced world, this summer will be like no other we have seen before. Many parks remain closed and distancing guidelines limit the amount of "normal" summer activities that our community kids can participate it. Just as we have done with our pantry and our ConnectLine, we have done our best to remain bsiness-as-usual and have adapted our summer program to a new and exciting virtual model.

This year's summer program will run for 6 weeks beginning on July 7th, with each week having it's own set theme. Activities within those themes will range from arts and crafts, physical activities, and fun challenges to STEM/STEAM projects, social-emotional learning, and safety awareness. With participation from Safe Schools Mohawk Valley, SNAP-Ed, Ag in the Classroom, Opioid Preventon Education, and more, opportunities for fun and education are endless!

Registration is quick and simple - families can fill out this form or scan the QR code in the image above. Soon after, our team will begin contacting families to coordinate the distribution of supplies (oh yeah, did we mention we'll be handing out everything they need to complete the activities they register for??) and choose their personal menu of activities for the program.

But what about the Pantry?

Even with all of the Summer Program excitement, our team is still working diligently at our pantry to ensure the needs of our community are met! The pantry continues to operate at Gansevoort every Tuesday from 10am to 2pm and we have LINK coordinators on site to take down information of anyone in need of assistance beyond food.
  • By the end of the summer, we are set to reach almost a HALF MILLION pounds of food distributed through our pantry
  • Anyone can access the pantry during open hours:
    • Gansevoort Elementary, 758 W. Liberty St
Tuesdays 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
