At the close of the academic year, we often look to statistics to provide an idea of how our services were used over the past 12 months. This year’s numbers illuminate how the past 4 months have significantly impacted the way users are interacting with our services.
The academic year in numbers:
39,975 Zoom meetings were launched from Canvas
9 schools created 864 learning experiences in the ExEd instance of Canvas
Residential Canvas was extended with the use of 156 LTI tools; ExEd Canvas was extended with 86 tools (10 new tool installations since the Fall term!)
8,500+ hours of video were captured and 150,000 hours were delivered in Panopto
123 Slack workspaces were created
Teaching and Learning Remotely
On July 19th, Zoom will require all meetings to have a passcode or waiting room as part of Zoom’s effort to improve security and privacy. The Zoom Governance Group and the Academic Technology Advisory Board are meeting together to discuss the impact and the communication plan for this change.
The Pages - Add / Edit / Delete permission has been separated into three distinct permissions that can be managed individually or as a group. When the permission includes a mix of enabled and disabled permissions, the main permission status indicates the permission is partially enabled, using a half-filled green circle as the icon. (This update does not affect the Pages API.)
