As you've probably guessed I have not lived up to my resolve to blog more regularly. I've been doing a lot of freelance editing work and writing on my own alt-history book manuscript. (Hint: The latter involves Abraham Lincoln and a turning point in U.S. history.)
I'm going over to this basic email format for my newsletter, at least for now, and will send it whenever I have news, such as a new blog or information on an upcoming publication or signing.
My latest blog is about an all-but-forgotten attempt by former Confederates (including one who served under Stonewall Jackson) to have their battle flag added to Old Glory. I first saw mention of this in the Tribune and Free Press from Fayette County, W.Va.

One last thing: I've discovered that my Gerald D. Swick email associated with this newsletter will receive but won't let me reply. I have to reply using g.d.swick(at)comcast. It has to do with different types of mail boxes, and I can't fix that problem quite yet.
