International Day of Parliamentarism | 30 June

Parliament's role is more vital than ever during COVID-19

In COVID-19 times, Parliaments and other government institutions are subject to the same social distancing measures as other public and private organizations. DGC Civil Society Youth Representatives took part in the International Youth Conference 2020

The International Youth Conference (IYC) is a global platform for youth from all over the world to hold dialogues on themes of relevance to the youth to achieve the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and participate in participatory development.  The conference aims to create a truly democratic platform for youth enabling their interaction without borders and boundaries, discussing issues that directly impact them and brainstorming solutions, ensuring their inclusion and contribution in policy making.

COVID-19 has paused the life of every human being on earth and affected global development at large. Whereas the world is under lockdown the progress of development is halted. On account of this, the International Youth Conference 2020 (IYC 2020) will take place under the theme ‘Regeneration: Moving forward with Development’. The conference will shed light on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and youth relevant themes. Youth and field experts will come together to discuss youth issues and drive youth action towards the achievement of SDGs while the world is at pause.
