What Work is Taking Place?
Since late 2018, crews have been working extended construction hours to complete deep excavation of the future Eglinton Station. In spring 2020, underpinning of TTC’s Eglinton Station box was completed. The TTC box is now fully supported and deep excavation continues safely underneath.
Beginning as early as June 29, 2020, deep excavation beneath the TTC station box will take place on a 24 hour basis, Monday through Friday. This includes excavation of soil and application of shotcrete (sprayed reinforcing concrete) approximately 15 metres below surface level. Surface activities, such as hauling of excavated soil will take place between 6:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Extended construction hours are expected to continue through 2020. Periodic updates will be issued as construction progresses.
