Wow!

Our circulation numbers are fantastic.  We have checked out over 4,200 items this June.   We are not quite up to our "normal," but our circulation this month is still well above 2017 numbers, and almost to 2018 usage. We are glad that our Curbside services and digital platforms are keeping you engaged with everything you need for lifelong learning.  We are absolutely thrilled with the usage of our new STEAM kits!
As we continue our reopening readiness preparations, we look forward to outdoor browsing this week.  Here's a brief FAQ about this new service.
Stay healthy!

FAQ - Outdoor Browsing (Weather Permitting)

WHEN:
Wednesday, July 1 at 2:00 - 4:30 pm

Thursday, July 2 at 11:00 am - 1:30 pm

WHERE:  Library Staff Parking Area
WHO:  Any library cardholder who can wear a mask.

What if rain is predicted?
This is a SUN only event.  Because of the time it takes to bring materials in and out, we can't risk it if the weather is threatening.

What will you have for browsing?
Not all 35,000 items housed in the library, but we promise a good selection of books, audios and movies for all ages.

Do I need an appointment?
No appointment necessary!  However, to maintain social distancing, we may need to limit numbers at a given time.

Do I need to bring my library card?
Preferably, yes. If you have your library card, we will encourage you to use self-checkout.  If you have lost your card  (or did an online application), we have a pandemic special of free replacements at Outdoor Browsing events!

Do I have to wear a mask, even outdoors?
Yes, for the safety of all, you will be required to use hand sanitizer and wear a mask before entering the outdoor browsing area. If you can't wear a mask, we will ask that you stick with Curbside Pick-up.

What about children?
Please do the selections for young children who can't wear masks.  You know we LOVE children, and children who are old enough to wear a mask can visit the children's browsing area. We ask that you do not bring in toddlers and babies who are too young for masks. We just don't know enough about asymptomatic carriers so better safe than sorry for the health of other families.

Do I have to use hand sanitizer?
Yes, please.  We will have some at the entrance to the browsing area.

If I don't see what I want, will you go into the library and get it for me?
Not during the event, but we are happy to put it on hold for you and schedule a curbside appointment for you to get it another day.

Do I have to use Self- checkout?
If you aren't comfortable with self-checkout, library staff will be on hand to check out your materials.

This is great but I really am not ready to interact with people, even this way.  Can I still do Curbside Pick-up?
Of course!  If you really like curbside pick-up, that's okay.  We are still happy to select your books and reserves and have them ready curbside.

Remember, Curbside Pick-up is rain or shine, but Outdoor Browsing is shine only.

Additional Curbside Appointment Times Added

We have added additional curbside appointment timeslots, bringing our appointment slots to over 100 per week.  Don't forget, you can now schedule your appointment online.
Just place your reserves, and once you have received your notification that they are ready, just click here (or on the link on our Library-to-Go page on the website) and sign up.  You can even reschedule or cancel, right from your phone or computer.
Please wait for the notification that your reserves are ready before scheduling so we have time to retrieve them and check them out to you.

Prefer to talk to a librarian?  Need help selecting items?  You can still call us at 532-7301.  Please don't hesitate to leave a message. We are here but may be  helping another patron, and we will call you back.
