Library activities and programs return

We are looking forward to seeing you soon at our library group activities and programs, with most returning to your local library in July.

These include adult workshops, language groups, book clubs, children's programs and more.

Physical distancing requirements still apply and we ask that our patrons continue to practise good hand hygiene and please do not visit the library if you are unwell.

Mayor's Message

The latest easing of restrictions is great for library lovers, as most of the City’s regular activities and programs return to normal in July.

We will continue to provide services like Click and Collect but as we get back to doing more things together, in person, I remind everyone to keep practising physical distancing and good hand hygiene.

If you missed the virtual talk with local author Sioban Timmer, please visit the libraries Facebook page to hear more about her writing, inspiration and characters.

For the men and boys out there, our libraries are currently promoting a great online resource to encourage more of you to read – to find out more, please click here.

Reading for men

We all recognise the significance of reading, and this article highlights the positive impact it can have on our grades, careers, relationships and, in fact, most facets of our lives. You can read this article and many more, by clicking the link below.

Digital comic museum

This site hosts thousands of free Golden Age comics dating as far back as the 1930s. Although mainly US published, there are some UK and Australian titles available. All files have been researched by Digital Comic Museum staff and users to make sure they are copyright free and in the public domain.

To start downloading just register an account and enjoy these great comic books. There is no charge per download and the goal of the project is to archive these comic books online and make them widely available.
