The Halifax-Yarmouth News Service is a service produced by the Communications Office of the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth. It provides information, updates and pastoral activities  from the Archbishop, diocesan offices, parishes, affiliated groups and the universal Church.

We Are Preparing to Welcome Back Parishioners!
The Church is always open, and soon our buildings will be open on Sundays too! As many of you may have heard, Archbishops Mancini and Dunn have been in consultation with Dr. Strang and a plan to re-open our church buildings has been approved. Starting on the weekend June 27-28, 2020 we can begin to celebrate Mass in our churches with groups of 50 people. Some things to note as we begin to gathering in small groups:

Monday, June 29, 2020 is the 200th Anniversary of Saint Mary’s Cathedral Basilica! While our public celebrations of this milestone anniversary needs to be postponed, let us pray in thanksgiving for the many years of witness and worship that have been celebrated in the Mother Church of diocese.

Development and Peace-Caritas Canada’s Response to Racial Injustice
As the COVID-19 pandemic exposes the deep inequalities of our world and as the death of George Floyd at the hands of law enforcement officers spurs a growing global mobilization to end systemic racism, Development and Peace-Caritas Canada would like to reaffirm its belief in a world built on justice, equality and universal human dignity and its resolve to stand in solidarity with those striving to dismantle oppressive power structures.
