As the world keeps changing, Tikkun Ha-Ir continues to grow our work to repair the city. With our partners, we created a pledge to heighten our focus on racial justice while acknowledging that dismantling systemic racism must come from so many corners of our greater community. We are already taking steps to fulfill our commitment and look forward to sharing more with you as it progresses. If you missed the statement, you can read it here.
Tikkun Ha-Ir's work on food justice is also often at the intersection of racial justice, providing healthy foods to food deserts and social service agencies that are deeply influenced by our city's segregation. The Veggie Chop Shop program launches July 12th, with cooking the 14th. Click below to learn the many ways to be involved.
During the many weeks of total shut down, Tikkun Ha-ir also ran a weekly fundraiser, The Care for your Neighbors Challenge. Thank you to all who donated over the last three months, we have raised over $3,500 to help such amazing organizations as Cathedral Center, Love on Black Women and Hunger Task Force. Didn't get to donate? Don't worry, you still can! Find all the links to donate to the organizations we have featured HERE. 100% of the funds raised go directly to the organizations.
Wishing you strength and solidarity in this new normal.
Sincerely,
Sami Stein Avner
Tikkun Ha-Ir Executive Director
