A Celebration of the USLAW NETWORK Women’s Connection will support METAvivor, Girl Up

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla., June 22, 2020 - During the month of July, A Celebration of the USLAW NETWORK Women’s Connection will support METAvivor and Girl Up through a Celebration Charity Miles program that promotes health and wellness. METAvivor relies on donations to fund the research that may one day save the lives of those living with metastatic breast cancer. Girl Up is a gender equality initiative of the United Nations Foundation and helps girls access their inner power to advance the skills, rights, and opportunities of girls everywhere.
Put on by women for women, A Celebration of the USLAW NETWORK Women’s Connection is a virtual educational, networking, and social initiative that will take place throughout July 2020. All female C-suite, in-house counsel, legal, risk, claims and HR staff along with female USLAW member attorneys and USLAW corporate partners may participate and can RSVP for the Celebration to receive more details about this USLAW NETWORK Charity Miles program and all other activities held throughout the month.
“In addition to a terrific program line-up that includes learning, sharing and networking opportunities,  we are excited to focus on health and wellness while making a meaningful impact by supporting METAvivor and Girl Up,” said Erin M. Diaz, Chair of the USLAW NETWORK Women’s Connection and a partner at Wicker Smith O'Hara McCoy & Ford P.A. in Tampa, Florida (pictured). “Our monthlong program has been created to help us make connections, inspire each other and build trusted networks. By also focusing on wellness, we will motivate each other to get moving, stay active and focus on going the extra mile to support these charities.”
How it works
- The Charity Miles program in concert with A Celebration of the USLAW NETWORK Women’s Connection will run from July 1 to July 31.
- USLAW NETWORK will track steps and miles through Charity Miles, a free iPhone/Android app that works like a fitness tracker and syncs with your phone's internal pedometer and GPS to track your steps, activities and miles.
- USLAW NETWORK will donate .25 cents per mile walked or run, and .05 cents per mile biked up to $5,000 to METAvivor, and we challenge participants to gather individual pledges and designate Girl Up to be a recipient of your raised dollars.

“METAvivor is very thankful that USLAW will be raising funds for stage IV metastatic breast cancer research through METAvivor,” said Sonya Negley, METAvivor executive director. “100% of every donation we receive goes to fund metastatic breast cancer research. We still have 114 men and women who die every day from the disease and we desperately need life extending treatments. We are thrilled to work with USLAW and Charity Miles for this event.”
