Child Care Update

Across May, June and July, Team Hubbub is taking part in a “RAP (Reconciliation Action Plan) Journey Game”, arranged by Darebin City Council. This has been both a lot of fun to do and helps us think more deeply about incorporating Aboriginal stories and culture into our program. Activities so far have included making damper flavoured with wattle seed and lemon myrtle; learning about Aboriginal symbols in art, and the Aboriginal flag and what each colour represents. We are also incorporating Aboriginal words and stories into our group times and singalongs.
New enrolments and tours are returning

We are now taking enrolments, with new families to start from 13 July. If you know someone who'd like to enrol, they can submit an application online.   For tours, please contact Erin directly to organise a tour.

Coworking Is Available

We are continuing our social distancing, using hand sani, disinfecting high-touch points, and have strict limits on the number of people per room.  This will continue for the foreseeable future as we adjust to life with COVID.
If you or a friend need some space, we are here to help.  Call (1300 482 282) or email Erin for details and to book a desk/room. No walk-ins, please.

Private Offices at Hubbub

Available from 1 July

If your organisation is considering an extended working-from-home period, and you'd like an office outside the city, chat to Erin about coworking or a private office.

We have private offices available for rent from 1 July 2020 – Contact Erin for details and to book a virtual tour.

Symptoms = Stay Home Please

Temperature checks
Happy Hubbub is conducting temperature checks of children and staff randomly throughout the day (plus as normal if we suspect a child has become ill/feverish).

As always, you can do your bit by keeping your child home if you or they are displaying any of the symptoms (highlighted below).   If you or your child are displaying any of the symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), however mild, you should get tested. Seek advice from a healthcare professional who can advise on next steps. You can phone the coronavirus (COVID-19) hotline on 1800 675 398 for help and advice.

A medical certificate is not required for your child to return to our setting after a period of illness, however, children and adults should not return until they no longer have symptoms.

National COVID-19 Study

QLD Health’s COVID-19 Unmasked survey

Australian researchers have begun the COVID-19 Unmasked survey to learn how the pandemic is affecting young children, their parents, carers and broader family life.

The research team includes infant and child psychologists and psychiatrists from the Queensland Centre for Perinatal and Infant Mental Health and Children’s Health Queensland, and researchers from several Australian universities. This project will help build a picture of how COVID-19 and other recent disruptive events have affected young children, their parents, and family life.

The research team is seeking caregivers of children aged 1–5 years from across Australia able to complete an anonymous online survey four times over the next year. Each survey takes about 20 minutes to complete. Participation is completely voluntary and participants can choose to stop at any time. Find out more about the study.
