TIWI ISLAND YACHT RACE WRAP Congrats to Wallop, the winner of the Tiwi Islands Yacht Race over the Queen's Birthday long weekend. Well done also to Red Knot and Terminal II for making a good race of it with moderate winds and flat seas.

Eleven skippers and crew took to the inner harbour last Sunday to take part in social race '10', run with just the one division.
Vice Commodore Bob Colman stated that it was very pleasing to see the first four places in this race were taken by four different Wet Season Race Series division yachts.

DSC COMMODORE'S SAIL-PAST WRAP DBCYA members and Management Committee members enjoyed the day at Darwin Sailing Club's recent 'Commodore Sail Past', either taking part in the Egyptian themed sail or as a guest onboard the DSC Commodore's catamaran.
There was water-throwing and general shenanigans aplenty, with participants putting in a big effort to theme up on the day.

CAREENING POLES READY TO GO After The careening poles are now complete and available for use.
Thank you to everyone involved in improving this essential and affordable facility for all senior members to use well into the future, including the efforts of project manager Kim Watson and Management Committee members Bob Colman and Bluey Walker.
NEW FEATURES:
Pole site 1 can now be used for contaminant removal and has an improved concrete base
Pole site 2 soon have wooden chocks installed as a standing base
Pole site 4 now has a concrete base
Poles 1-2 are positioned slightly further down so can be accessed at a lower tide
There is a wider 11 mtr gap between the poles allowing a (medium sized) multi and a mono concurrent access on sites 2 and 3.

'DRY AT' MEASUREMENTS:
SITE 1: 5.2M, SITE 2: 5.3M, SITE 3: 4.9M, SITE 4: 5.0M, SITE 5 (against wharf): 3.9M and BEACH: 5.7M
MAX TONNAGE:
SITE 1, 2 AND 4: 25 Tonnes, SITE 3, 5 and the BEACH 40 Tonnes.
NEW TERMS OF USE:
Public Liability Insurance Certificate of Cover to be provided at time of booking.
If the vessel is not insured, the occupant is required to use sites 1 or 5 only
If the vessel is not insured, a third party risk insurance levy will apply as of July 2020 (like already incurred by the hard stand occupants).
Occupants to manage careening to allow no more than a 10 degree tilt of the vessel.
Vessels over 25T must use site 3 only and complete a Careening Plan prior
Occupants who remove contaminants at sites 4, 5 or the Beach will incur a pollution / clean up fee ($200 minimum)
No increase in site rental fee at $30 per day inclusive of power, water and contaminant removal fees.
There will be an information session on the new poles at the upcoming SGM on 20 July.
PERMANENT SHADE STRUCTURE OVER SIDE BAR AREA Construction finished, fan installed today to provide subtle air movement, party light strings to go up next week, it's looking good! Thanks to Golding Carpentry for the install.

After the unsuccessful Major Community Benefit Fund application the Management Committee have determined to shelve this project until such time as other funding assistance may become available.
WHARF PILLAR MAINTENANCE Repair options and costs for these essential maintenance works - This will be a discussion point at the upcoming SGM on 20 July.
