The new inviting main entrance.

The Aspire company tag line, “Let’s aspire to a brighter future”, was certainly appropriate for this project. Converting a small basement space into a comfortable modern office within energy code limitations and budget constraints was a challenge. We opted for lots of indirect light reflected off of white surfaces and a beautiful feature pendant to invite occupants to the table.

The Big Shutdown
Experimenting with new technology

At LightWire, we believe that the mundane tasks in life should be made as easy as possible, to allow maximum time and effort for more worthwhile or desirable pursuits – like creating lighting designs. For this reason, we have separate offices that are close to our homes and minimize commute time. Until the end of March, our in-person meeting time was reserved for Mondays and special events. Monday meetings in West Seattle have gotten a lot harder since March though. A broken bridge and social distancing sent us searching for a way to maintain our connection remotely. We’ve found Zoom to be a reliable way to communicate and share plans. While we miss seeing each other and all of you in person, we’re grateful for remote meeting technology.

Still making progress. We love seeing a project come together, but in these times of remote work and social distancing, it is extra exciting. The linear direct/indirect luminaires in this area accentuate that change from cubicles to open office space.

Garden Party
We’re doing our best to have a little social interaction while staying virus free. Outdoor gatherings with homemade face masks have become a new favorite. We hope you are all taking care of yourselves through these trying times. Be well, wear a mask, and stay connected.
