Finally, we can begin to plan
Whilst there remain a number of caveats in place, we can do nothing but welcome the news that the Government is allowing the tourism and hospitality sector to re-open from 4 July, and that they have taken the challenging yet necessary decision to reduce the minimum social distancing requirement from 2m to 1m. Marketing Lancashire submitted evidence last week to the DCMS Select Committee calling for just these measures, as well as others. You can read the submission here.

The Government have now issued guidance on this for the sector, including all of the measures they expect businesses to be taking in order to reopen and offer your teams and guests the safest possible experience with you. You can access all the guidance here.

We are still waiting on further information on Visit Britain’s National standard and will send this out to partners as soon as it is released.
