The Pavilion Garden is looking glorious thanks to our wonderful gardener Robert.

Now that the lockdown is easing, why not visit at the garden at time when it is looking fantastic?

The Booth Museum team have come over all creepy-crawly for National Insect Week. Here's some useful info which may come in useful for a Zoom quiz or even a real life pub quiz one day.

This poster is from the Booth Museum who have been sharing facts about insects for NIW2020 organised by the Royal Entomological Society. You could join in by taking a photo or drawing the bugs and beetles in your garden or local park.

This exquisite charcoal drawing of two sisters Elizabeth and Sarah Martin (nieces of the Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia) were brought to our paper conservation department in March 2019. After work by paper conservator Amy Junker Heslip, it was shipped to a gallery in New Zealand for a show on the artist Frances Hodgkins.

Amy explains how this artwork and others in our collections on loan are now enjoying an extended holiday thanks to the lockdown.

This week we celebrated World Giraffe Day with a sad story from Alexandra Loske, one of the curators at the Royal Pavilion.

She explains the truth behind an etching mocking George IV crying over the death of his pet giraffe.

We're wondering if anyone else got their top hat on to celebrate the return of football after the lockdown?
