This week’s news from American Dairy Association North East  the dairy farmer-funded and directed organization using checkoff dollars to deliver a strategic, comprehensive marketing plan on behalf of dairy farmers.
New York Families Get 40,000 Gallons of Milk this Week, Dairy Farmer Glad to Help Stretch Food Dollars
This week, ADA North East is facilitating the distribution of nearly 40,000 gallons of milk as part of the more than 200,000 gallons slated for distribution during National Dairy Month. New York dairy farmers Judi Whittaker, of Whittaker Farms, and Debbie Lawton and Chelsie Fuller, of Lawton Jersey Farm, participated in today’s event in Tioga County.

Lisbon, N.Y., Dairy Farmer Demonstrates Dairy Recipes on Weis Facebook Live Broadcast
Allison Akins of Five Mile Farm, Lisbon, N.Y., joined ADA North East nutrition specialist Michelle Barber on a Facebook Live interview with Weis Markets’ Registered Dietitian Beth Stark. Promotions like this engage consumers who are interested in food and nutrition and who will purchase more dairy products to try the recipes at home.

Taco Bell Increases Cheese Use, Adds New Dairy Item to Menu During COVID
To retain drive-through sales at Taco Bell during COVID-19, dairy checkoff helped Taco Bell develop to-go meal kits – each containing 11 ounces of cheese which is more than a large pizza.
