Hi all I hope you are well.
I have had many messages from patients regarding yesterdays announcement by the Government stating that beauty salons can not open yet. Let me reassure you on the following:-
- I am not a beauty salon, it is a medical aesthetic clinic that provides medical procedures using medical devices and products provided by a Registered Nurse who has worked with infective patients/infection control/aseptic techniques for over 12 years.
- My registering body, Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) have advised us we may open as long as we follow strict policies and procedures regarding Covid security. We have all of this in place.
- Although I did shut for the pandemic, there was actually no legal requirement for my medical aesthetic clinics to close and many of my esteemed doctor colleagues have opened already - lawfully and within written policy.
- I take the health and wellbeing of our patients very seriously, you are not clients or customers, you are coming to a Registered Nurse led clinic for a medical procedure.
- My operating procedures are robust, have been devised by senior colleagues throughout the country and may be viewed by patients if they so wish.
- Those who remain closed are also within their rights to remain closed, it is a professional decision taken on a personal level and each nurse, doctor or dentist must take that decision based on their own policies, procedures and understanding of the available guidance.
So what’s the plan and what will be different?
I shall be contacting all patients on the waiting list in the next 2-3 weeks to book in priority appointments. This may mean a delay in getting an appointment for up to a month so please book early to avoid disappointment.
To reduce time spent in the clinic appointments must be booked and paid for in advance in full.
The clinic will look sparse and my uniform will look very different.
All clients will have to fill in a questionnaire on the day of your appointment.
You must attend make up free, alone and bring minimal belongings.
