COVID-19 INFORMATION

Practice good hygiene to help prevent illness. This includes washing your hands regularly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, avoiding touching your face, coughing or sneezing into your elbow or sleeve, and disposing of tissues appropriately. Please stay home if you are sick! Do the self-assessment online., if you are not sure if you are sick. 
COVID-19 TESTING now available to all Albertans, even if you don’t have symptoms. 
WEARING MASKS Albertans are encouraged to wear non-medical masks in public when it's difficult to maintain physical distancing of 2 metres (6 feet) at all times.

  • Board Updates/AGM News: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Alberta’s Corporate Registry has permitted us to postpone the 2020 AGM. This may change based on future developments. Until an AGM is held and the membership elects a new Board of Directors, the current Board will continue. 
  • 2nd Floor Cafe remains closed. If you require prepared meals, we recommend Meals on Wheels.
  • Online Programs for Seniors page on our website, under "Resources for Seniors." 

  • MWSA Programs Cancellations & Refunds: MWSA will be offering $25 credit per registered fitness course, or you can choose to donate the Mill Woods Seniors Association, for the missed classes, and we will issue you a charitable tax receipt. Please email program.coordinator@mwsac.ca.

These online Zoom meetups are a great way to practice crafts with friends or get a good brain workout. Materials will be supplied ahead of time. To register call 780-465-2992 or email at light@shaama.ca.

PRESENTATION: THE GRIEF OF LOSING A LOVED ONE TO DEMENTIA
Organized by Caregivers Alberta and presented by the Grief & Trauma Centre, get tools to learn to move beyond the pain, isolation caused by loss with this free online presentation.

CITY OF EDMONTON PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITY: HERITAGE VALLEY PARK
Participate in the online survey to have your input on the design, including park amenities, for both the initial and future developments on what you would like to see in Heritage Valley District Park! The park is currently in the concept phase, with construction anticipated in two stages between 2021 and 2023. Survey closes July 3.

One good thing you can do this week:  Do you have bags of empty bottles and cans? Use "Skip The Depot, "a free service, where they will come and pick up your empties, take them to the depot for you, and uou can donate the proceeds to Mill Woods Seniors Association (we're a registered charity). We'll send you a tax receipt for proceeds of $25 or more!
