In May, Premier Mark McGowan and the Minister for Education and Training Sue Ellery jointly announced the establishment of an urgent, industry-led review of skills, training and workforce development in response to COVID-19’s impact on the workforce in Western Australia.

FutureNow thanks our stakeholders who contributed their time, knowledge, and expertise to informing this review. The State Government has now committed to advancing all of the recommendations of the Review of Skills, Training and Workforce Development

DLGSC releases major survey to map Covid-19 impacts on the creative industries

The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) Culture and the Arts is conducting a targeted survey to assess COVID-19 impacts on employment and revenue in the creative industries in Western Australia.

New Elite Athletes Apprenticeship and Traineeship arrangements announced

The new Elite Athletes Apprenticeship and Traineeship (EAAT) arrangements, announced by Minister for Education and Training Sue Ellery, provide increased flexibility for elite athletes seeking to complete an apprenticeship or traineeship. 
 

$6,000 for employers who take on a displaced apprentice

Up to $6,000 in financial support is now available to employers who take on a displaced apprentice or trainee.
