Drexel CCI Dean Yi Deng Elected to University City Science Center Board


Drexel University College of Computing & Informatics (CCI) Isaac L. Auerbach Professor and Dean Yi Deng, PhD was recently elected as a board member by the University City Science Center. 

Deng’s election was announced following the 2020 Annual Meeting of Shareholders held on June 19. 

“I am both honored and excited to join the Board. The Science Center has been a powerhouse to drive and support innovation, research, talent development and entrepreneurship in our city and beyond,” said Deng. “I look forward to being a part of this exciting and important endeavor.”

Senior Capstone Project Call for Abstracts


As many firms seek solutions to new and existing problems in the era of Covid-19, consider CCI as a problem-solving resource and work with our talented students through Senior Project. We see this as an opportunity for our students to apply their knowledge and skills, and continue to learn from industry experiences while supporting your company during a challenging time.

CCI invites project abstracts from any interested organization – established corporations, nonprofits and startups. The abstract deadline has been extended to August 1 for the 2020-21 school year.

Summer 2020: Drexel Digital Development Camp for High School Girls


The Drexel University Digital Development Camp is a two-week virtual program August 3 -14, 2020 that will give aspiring developers the opportunity to learn about full stack development. The camp will be led by College of Computing & Informatics faculty and student leaders and will include daily lessons, guest speakers and individual/group work time. The camp is open to rising female high school juniors, seniors and accepted CCI female students.

Philly Codefest 2020 Held Virtually This Fall


To ensure the health and safety of all attendees, we have decided to transition Philly Codefest to a virtual event this fall. In its eighth year, Philly Codefest 2020 aims to bring together students and professionals from all backgrounds to develop novel, creative solutions to support the region’s sustainability and climate goals and help make our region a safer, healthier place to be for generations to come.
