How can California’s water sector save money, reduce its emissions footprint, and increase its resilience?

How can we drive investment dollars from the energy sector into the water sector?

These are the questions that CalWEP and the UC Davis Center for Water-Energy Efficiency (CWEE) are attempting to answer. This new research is investigating how each water system in the state can use its existing reservoirs and storage tanks to adjust the timing of pump operation to reduce costs and emissions and increase resilience while maintaining the same level of reliability. But we need your help.

Please take a quick minute and look through this survey. Can you answer these questions, or can you forward this email to your colleagues to help find the answers?

In exchange for sharing information about your system’s operations, you'll be entered to win a $250 Visa gift card. CWEE will also create a custom operational energy analysis report (see below) that identifies potential cost savings and GHG emissions reductions from operationalizing your system’s energy flexibility.

The deadline to complete the survey is July 31, 2020. To learn more about this project and how you can help answer these critical questions visit the CalWEP website.
