Queensland Government Return to Play

The Queensland Government Return to Play is a guide for Queensland sport, recreation and fitness industries in getting Queenslanders active, and to restart activities in a staged approach to keep everyone safe, healthy and moving. This staged approach is in line with directions from the National Cabinet and Queensland’s Roadmap to easing restrictions.

For local sporting clubs to resume training in stage two and possibly competitions in stage three (pending State and Federal Government directives), council requires a Return to Play plan to be sent to sport@mackay.qld.gov.au outlining the steps that the club will take to comply with the Queensland Government Return to Play Checklist and Industry Plans.

Click here for further information on Queensland Government’s Return to Play.

As part of Return to Play, the Queensland Government is helping community sport, recreation and fitness organisations with a range of funding and grants.
