Community Singing Up-Date

What a crazy three months!
At a time when we really need to be able to
sing together, we really can't. Damn!
I wanted to up-date you as to how
the virus has affected
community singing events in and around
Greater Lansing and Mid-MIchigan.

The 19th Annual
Mid-Winter Singing and Folk Festival
has been postponed until 2022.
As we all have read, group singing,
especially in an enclosed facility,
is one of the most dangerous activities
we can do in this 'Age of COVID.'
It is with great sadness that this next season's
MId-Winter Singing and Folk Festival
has been postponed until late
January/ early February, 2022. Dates TBD.

In addition, at this time,
the Monthly Community Sings
are postponed until we can all
safely sing together.
When will they return?
Really, the virus will decide.
When it is safe to congregate and sing,
we will schedule some gatherings.
We will spread the word via this email and on
singingfestival.com

The Wheatland Music Festival, Remus, Mi,
held on the weekend after Labor Day,
has been postponed until 2022.
We hope to continue the Sunday afternoon
Community Sing at that time.

There are many organizations and individuals.
producing singing events via Zoom
and other online programs.
Sally Rogers runs the Quiet Corner Song Swap
- and the next one is tonight!
Here is information, passed along
by Becky and Larry Leefers.
Come to our next Quiet Corner Song Swap on
Friday, July 10 from 7-9 (more or less) via ZOOM!
Song leaders sing the songs while all are muted,
but singing from home. All have choruses,
and the lyrics are shared on the Zoom screen.
